Albuquerque Ranks No. 2 in Nation for Dog Friendliness

Albuquerque resident Autumn Gray and her dog, SipaPooch, enjoy hiking almost year round in the mountains surrounding Albuquerque.

Albuquerque is a top dog when it comes to how the community fares for canine companions, according to SmartAsset’s 2017 rankings of the Most Dog-Friendly Cities in America.

Among the metrics considered in the research were: the number of dog parks and dog-friendly restaurants and stores, and the city’s walkability and home values (“to make sure both pup and owner are living comfortably”).

While San Francisco came in at No. 1, dogs that live in Albuquerque can attest that their people have more to spend on treats and toys for them since cost of living is 280 percent less in the Duke City.
