7 Things Albuquerque Doesn’t Have

Welcome to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Where startups start up easier because they don’t have to deal with these 7 annoyances.

1. No Seasonal Depression

You don’t get down about the weather when the weather never gets down. It’s sunny here 300+ days of the year. And when it’s “winter,” highs are in the upper 40s or low 50s. And that’s not winter. Just ask someone from Detroit.

2. No Traffic

In Albuquerque, you’re no more than 15 minutes away from where you’re headed. And given that the city is almost 190 square miles, that’s pretty magical.

3. No Sharks

You don’t have to worry about sharks in Albuquerque. Which means you don’t have to worry about losing one of your best employees to a shark attack. Let’s be honest, those things love to eat people.

4. No Humidity

If your employees are sweating at work, it’s because they are stressed or have a medical condition they haven’t disclosed yet. It will never be because of humidity. The high desert of Albuquerque bodes well for looking like you have it together, even if you don’t.

5. No Rent

Okay, that’s not exactly accurate. The cost of living in Albuquerque is incredibly low. Most rentals here come with multiple closets. Whereas in many other major cities you’d be lucky if your entire place was the size of a closet. Your employees will be able to save more, too.

6. No Subways

Getting trapped in a subway with a bunch of smelly people is the worst. We’ve heard. Luckily for you, it doesn’t happen here. Albuquerque doesn’t have subways, unless you count the sandwich shop, and we don’t. There’s no need for them. Congestion is a word we don’t use here.

7. No Tornadoes

Though cool to look at, the chance of a tornado or any other natural disaster destroying your business in Albuquerque is well below the national average. So, after you build a foundation here, you don’t have to worry about it being picked up and moved two states over.
